FIFA 10 and PES 2010, which is better?
It is not new that FIFA 10 is often compared to PES 2010. In fact, this is exactly what I'm going to do right now. To start with metacritics/ reviews for both games.
Gamespot:
PES 2010 - 6.5/10
FIFA 10 - 9/10
PSM UK:
PES 2010 - 9/10
FIFA 10 - 9.5/10
IGN UK:
PES 2010 - 8.7/10
FIFA 10 - 9.3/10
Indeed it seems that FIFA 10 has a bit of advantage on this one, but every side has its own advantages/ disadvantages. I played FIFA 10 and PES 2010 demo, so my opinion might not be accurate.
The good thing about PES 2010 are, firstly the graphics. The graphics is given a major upgrade this time. Some player faces likeness are uncanny, and I'm impressed by the stadium lights and the grasses. When running, players seems to be more 'on the ground' than FIFA 10. For graphics, PES 2010 is a clear winner.
I love champions league tournament, this is the mode that FIFA 10 lacking. However FIFA 10 has a full license of Barclay Premier league. Being an Arsenal fans I love to play with proper emblem and kits. In PES 2010, the Arsenal team is called 'North London'. You can however change the emblem and kits via customization mode. You can actually download it via internet, but I'm just plain lazy and it is always nice to have it in the first place.
The downside of PES 2010 is that player movement feels a bit clunky. It is not as smooth as FIFA 10. Though both versions boast that it has 360 dribbling, however PES 2010 is more 16 directional dribble than 360.
The AI seems a bit off in PES 2010. I tried to pass through Torres when I had a chance, only he just standing there, where as in FIFA 10, when I found a space to trough pass, the attacker begin its run towards the goal. I don't know if PES 2010 is inferior to FIFA 10, but that what I felt when I tried both.
And I feel that tactics using slider in PES 2010 gives you a better customization than FIFA 10. For hardcore fans, PES 2010 system might be more favorable than FIFA 10.
So, which game should you buy? It will depends a lot on your preferences. Some might like FIFA 10, but some might enjoy PES 2010 more. And personally I think both are good games.

Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition will release as DLC
Contrary of what Capcom planned with Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition, the games will eventually release as a DLC instead of full boxed game.
Capcom recently make a pool, asking fans what is their preference with Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition. After listening to some 1500 voters, it was decided that the game will not carry its own box.
Capcom's Chris Kramer said:
Based on your feedback, in North American, European and Australia territories, Capcom will be making the new RE5 content for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 available as downloadable content. You will not be asked to purchase a new copy of the game just to get at the new stuff, just make sure to hold on to your RE5 disc and you'll be ready to roll in Spring 2010 when we make available new Resident Evil adventures (and some other things we haven't told you about yet) for you.RE 5: AE will feature an episode including Jill and Chris when they tried to capture Wesker. Also the game should include the new Playstation motion controller but no confirmation whether it is possible since this is only a DLC.
Well, this is certainly a welcome news. Looks like our Resident Evil 5 game is still worth something. Luckily I didn't resell it just then.

Super Street Fighter IV online mode confirmed
Here are confirmation of Super Street Fighter IV new modes from official Super Street Fighter IV official webpage. Hey, they even release a trailer.
1. Endless battle.
This mode lets 8 people to gather in the lobby and challenge each other. The loser will sit out while the next player challenge current winner in the room. Others can spectate and cheers via chat.
2. Team Battle.
This is a battle between two teams (red and blue). You can set up players up to 8 people, and decide who is who on each side and who is going to fight first. Basically it is a KOF style fighting. Others can spectate and chat during match to cheer on their teammate.
3. Replay mode.
You can watch a replay video of previous match battle. You can set a search field on which match you'd like to watch. For example: you can choose to see only matches that contains Ryu.
4. Tournament mode.
Like it says, tournament mode lets you create your own tournament. A bracket will be made, and you can give a custom title to the winner.
So Capcom has answer all the fans calling by putting all these modes. Great job.

What can you expect more from PSPgo?
PSPgo is here with lukewarm sales. Indeed Sony should improve its support on PSPgo. So what could improve PSPgo? Here are the wish lists:
1. UMD transfer to digital.
Since PSPgo don't have UMD drive to play UMD games, Sony once promised that it will find a solution to its UMD transfer problem. Alas, right now the plan has been put on hold because of piracy and legality issues. Well, we still waiting on this one though.
2. Up to date PS store games library.
PS store is updated every week with bunch of games for PSP. However certain games are available in UMD format, but nowhere to be seen in PS store. Now, that's not fair.
3. Cheaper games on PSPgo?
Being digital download only, no UMD or packaging involved, less distribution cost, the games should be cheaper, no? Well, it should! However, since Sony is afraid that cheaper games on PSPgo might threaten retail stores, the price on digital download is more or less the same! Well Sony, if you dare to launch PSPgo, please take some responsibility to those who has faith in your product.
4. Comics from Playstation Store
One of the feature that might soon be available is that you wil be able to read digital version of paper comics on your PSP. Sony has partnered with Marvel, IDW, iVerse, and others to give you an array of digital comics, once a firmware update this Dec launches.
5. Video ratings guide
Some people will not care about this feature, but for parents it will be different story. The guide will gives an ratings whether it is ESRB for games, or MPAA for film. Older PSP might get this feature via update in the future.
6. Game rental
Though there is absolutely no confirmation from Sony about this one, however if you go to your game information (with firmware 6.0), there is a information about expire time limit of the game.
It could be for future game rental on PS store and Sony has mentioned a monthy fee based PSP games rental service at the Game Developers Conference earlier this year. Rental service will be a terrific idea. Personally, I do want to try a few games without commiting to buy it because I afraid that I might find it uninteresting later.

Media Molecule doesn't plan for sequel for LittleBigPlanet
Media molecule said that they are not interested in making sequel to PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet. "We’d never want to do that," level designer Danny Leaver tells Critical Gamer. "That’d be the most counterproductive thing you could do, I think."
Instead, the team will continue to focus developing added value to the game by DLCs and regular update.
It means that LBP will get much more longer life. I certainly take my hats off to them for having such high level of commitment to the fans and the community by not considering sequel, at least not now.
LBP sales was disappointing when it launched, but Sony keep helping promoting the game and in the end the sales picked up. I probably don't play this game too much these day, but I admire the creativity of this game and the team behind it. It is not everyday that you going to see this kind of game.

Activision Blizzard will include new Call of Duty, Guitar Hero and Spiderman in 2010
Couple days away from Modern Warfare 2, Activision Blizzard already hinted their 2010 games line up during earning Q&A earlier today.
The lineup including a new Call of Duty games, Guitar Hero and Spiderman for next year. No doubt that this installation of Call of Duty will be back to Treyarch. And from the looks of it, it will not be a second world war. Some said that it will set during cold war, but subject to confirmation later.
So, yeah the lineup is pretty much predictable given Call of Duty and Guitar Hero are the money making machine for Activision Blizzard. The Spiderman game? Well, I don't expect too much from it. Unless they can match Batman: Arkham Assylum, I doubt this will be an AAA title.
