Xbox 360 Project Natal : A Brief insight

No String (or No Controller) Attach.

Project Natal first announce on June 2009 at E3 2009. What it do is allow the user to play games in Xbox 360 with out Controller and only uses natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands or presented objects and images.

In E3 2009 Microsoft show several games for the audience to see. One of them call Breakout, which get you in to a virtual room and you have to breakout from there. First the system will scan your body and put a ghost out line for you body on the screen. Then you need to bounce to ball using all your part of your body to break the blocks. You can use your arms, head or your foot to do the job. Interesting, yes?

Project Natal is going to be use By Microsoft to explore the non hardcore gamer market which currently are dominated by Wii.

Even though the Microsoft has't say anything about Natal's release date, you can expected to be around late 2010.

Tips & tricks: Upsize your PS3 Hard drive

Soon or later you will run out storage capacity on your PS3 with all that downloading, upgrade firmware stuff.
And eventually you want to change your PS3 hard drive. This is how:
1. Get your new hard disk. PS3 is compatible with any 2.5 inch SATA notebook HDD, but please do note that PS3 is using Seagate momentus as its HDD. Personally I prefer and already used the same brand just to be safe, but it is really up to you. I recommend that at least you get 320G or more.
2. Back up your data. PS3 can back up to any external storage, such as USB thumbdrive, memory stick, or External HDD. Just find the option in you XMB. FYI it can only read storage that is formatted in FAT 32. Just in case your storage is formatted in NTFS, you can reformat using Disk management utility in Windows.  For larger HDD, you will need to create a partition because FAT 32 can only read up to 32G.
What if you don't do partition? Then whatever your storage size is, it will only read up to 32G.

 

Save you data using PS3 back up data utility

Your PS login, system setting, and all your download content will be saved in this process. 

3. Hard disk swap.You will need a phillip head screw driver for this process. Turn off your PS3. Remove the HDD panel on the side of your PS3.

Remove the blue screw.

 

Open the metal latch, move the hard drive tray to the right, and pull it out.

Remove the four screws that hold the HDD. It is extremely tight. 

 

Swap your HDD and screw in.

 

Put the HDD tray, replace the blue screw. snap back the panel.

Turn on the console and let the system format the new drive. Then load up the PS3 backup utility to restore data from your external storage device back onto the PS3 hard drive.

Viola. Its done! Now you have a spare HDD from your PS3. You can either sell it or make it an external HDD for future back up need.

PS3 Firmware 3.0 is LIVE

PS3 Firmware 3.0 is LIVE now for download.
3.0 firware features a change in avatar. More dynamic avatars and themes. Your avatar, message alert, and "what are you doing" status will show up in your status bar on the top right of your screen.

The game at the cross media bar will have a shortcut to playstation store, linking what downloadable content available or other related item.

Jade Raymond, The Producer of Assassin Creed

In the video game industries, developers, producers and designers are rarely known. But recently several name come to the spot light, for example Robert Bowling (Modern Warfare 2) and Jade Raymond (Assassin Creed)

Today I am going to talk about Jade Raymond. Not only because she is a gamer, but she also make them. As I mention earlier Jade Raymond is involve in the the making of both Assassin Creed games as Producer. And as for today, She been appointed to lead the UBISOFT Toronto. How cool is that??

Jade Raymond born in Montreal Canada in 1975. As in teenager she been working in the hospital in Montreal as a switch board operator. But her step towards gaming world start when she studied computer science in McGill University. After graduating from collage, Jade's first job was programming games for SONY. Jeopardy game which played by over 3000 people daily are one of her and her team's work for SONY. Amazing!

After SONY, Jade move to Electronic Arts and There Inc before finally landing on the UBISOFT Montreal, where she work Assassin Creed 1 & 2 to the perfection.

Jade Raymond is one of the most celebrated celebrity in video games industries not only she is so brilliant and smart, She is also very popular because of her pretty face.

Well we all going to wish her good luck with her new jobs at Ubisoft Toronto and looking forward to see more of her games.

And don't for get to buy her up coming game Assassin Creed 2 on November 17, 2009

Gran Turismo 5 news update

Here are some updates for eagerly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 based on interview with series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

• Damage system will not just for your eyes only, it will also affect the car's handling.
• Release is 'not too far away'. Will be after GT PSP, and simultaneous worldwide release. Possible within 2009.

Disney just bought Marvel for $4 billion!! They will acquire over 5.000 comic books characters. Disney will review current gaming license associate with Marvel, but doesn't feel a need to take over current gaming development which involved Sega, Activision, and THQ.
